details and directions below
As of 4/12/2009, we are now using the Hilton’s garage parking. We feel that this will be a lot better situation for us and be a lot more safe, clean, comfortable, and accessible. So here’s the process, just pull into the front of the Hilton and enter the garage on the Travis St side. You will have to pull a ticket to get the gate to open, but you will NOT need the ticket to exit (at the end of the service you must pickup a FREE token on your way out of the worhsip area that will get you out of the exit gate). Once in the garage, just park anywhere on levels 6, 7, or 8 and then take the garage elevator up to the 8th floor and the hall way will lead you to our foyer. The Gospel of Luke
A Physician's Examination of Jesus
January 2010
The weekly Worship Gathering of The Church in the Center is held on Sunday mornings in the Marriott at the Texas Medical Center at 6580 Fannin St, in the heart of the Texas Medical Center area. We meet in the 3rd Floor Conference Center at 10:30 a.m. Here’s what to expect when you show up:
Friendliness
You will be greeted by friendly and helpful people who genuinely want to know you and see that you have a great experience in visiting The Church in the Center. Our hope is that everyone who walks through the doors feel very welcomed and at home in our congregation.
Contemporary Worship
The music portion of the service will be led by a contemporary praise band who will lead the congregation in modern worship. We try to incorporate technology, media, the arts, and creativity into our services in a way that leads to an authentic experience of worshiping God. When it comes to worship, there is freedom here. You can sit silently and pray or you can stand up to clap and sing. We don’t have a finite form for worship, just an environment where believers are free to encounter God.
Relevant and Biblical Preaching
Each week, lead pastor Ben Hays will share a message from God’s Word that is grounded in truth and relevant to life today. Typically, the preaching style at The Church in the Center will be expository and in the context of a series of messages that are leading the Church Body in an intentional direction.
Dress
The dress code for attending The Church in the Center is….well, there is no dress code. Just come to church how you are. If you like to dress up, then by all means, wear your best tie or heels. If you are all about staying in jeans, t-shirt, and flip-flops on your day off, then we’re cool with that too. The important thing is not how we dress, but the transparency of our hearts before God.
Giving
We do not pass the offering plate at The Church in the Center. No one will ask you individually to give an offering. In the Bible, giving was not a matter of coercion, but of cheerful and willing offering given to glorify God. If you choose to give to our ministry, an offering box is available in the auditorium for you to place your donation in,
or you can donate online through our secure giving page.
